After the brutal attack carried out by left-wing extremists against the police chief of Fürth, The Bavarian Interior Minister, Joachim Herrmann, declared that “We will by no means tolerate this, it is entirely unacceptable. The State will come down equally hard on extremists, either if they are leftists or right-wing ones”

The background for this was a demonstration organized by left-wingers last weekend in Fürth against an extreme right-wing rally in the inner city. As the police chief tried to make contact with the extreme left-wingers, they began pelting him with stones, and he was hit in the head by a piece of walkway pad, after which he had to be treated in a hospital. The police described the behavior of the nearly 100 leftist demonstrators as “very aggressive”. Those responsible for the attack managed to flee.

Three agents were injured during this demonstration. Herrmann emphasized that he supports “every democratic engagement against neo-Nazis”, but whoever throws stones and injures people is an offender. This person begins to behave just as abjectly as the neo-Nazis. The extreme right-wing demonstration went on without incidents.
