Maria Frank, a 74-year-old woman, who leads an organisation called "Association for the Future of Germany" peacefully gathers signatures calling for a referendum on whether an "Islam in Europe" centre should be built in Munich. She is constantly mobbed by antifa, green and trade union activists, so her placards are hardly visible. Despite that, she is prosecuted for incitement to hatred.
In Rotkreuzplatz the 74-year-old pensioner exhibited a placard on this day, which among other thing said that after the siege of Vienna by the Ottoman empire in 1683 now "the arrogant Turks and Muslims ... [are threatening] Europe again". The accused thus established and suggested the reference to a war of aggression, at least "implicitly accepting" that fear of Islam and Turks would be generated, argued the state prosecutor. She was placed under caution and ordered to pay 1000 euros to Amnesty International! She said she had nothing to do with this organisation and asked to be allowed to pay the money to a charity for persecuted Christians instead. The judge said no, it had to go to Amnesty International!
In addition he warned Frank, who has made numerous negative statements about Turks and Muslims on the internet, sometimes in a much more drastic way than on the placard.
"You need to stop that and become aware of what is acceptable and what isn't."
If she commits a similar "offence" within the next three years, she has to pay a fine of 3,600 euros.

What a brave woman and for speaking the truth she gets convicted of inciting hatred.Unbelievable.

You have to pay for the right to speak freely - its a complete joke.
There must be something fundamentally wrong with the German law as it seems to be in its full right to suppress the human right to express oneself freely. Mrs Frank is a very impressive woman. She continues an old European tradition to defend the opinion of one's own. She ought to have received a medal of honour in stead of being treated in such a shameful way by a German court. I'm surprised. Let us hope the judge will void the verdict and throw it into the "cylinder file". And let us build up a fund for this lady so she and her followers can continue the good work in order to defend freedom of expression in Germany and Europe. It's also astonishing that Amnesty International can even think of accepting money from this poor lady. I sincerely hope there is some highly qualified solicitor, who will engage free of charge in fighting for Mrs Frank's morally correct case. Good bless Mr Frank!

Is the Judge a Muslim? I am shocked that my beloved Munich is sinking down to Dhimmy-status. After a 55 year absence with odd visits 7 years ago and more, will I be able to recognize my Munich, die Weltstadt mit Herz and growing up an der gruenen Isar,and go shopping at the Viktualienmarkt and Fisch-halle ect. I am sad, very sad.
