Two black African cardinals emerged as frontrunners for the papacy yesterday after the shock resignation of Benedict XVI.
He became the first leader of the Roman Catholic church to step down in 600 years and the first to abdicate through ill-health.
Amid feverish speculation about the succession, two of the favourites were Ghana’s Cardinal Peter Turkson, 64, and Cardinal Francis Arinze from eastern Nigeria.

This is interesting. Regular readers may remember some posts I made a few months ago about a
video on Muslim demographics that had been shown to a Vatican synod. Peter Turkson was the person responsible. The Vatican later
dissociated itself from his actions, but now he may be the next Pope.
Even if he does become Pope, though, the office may have a moderating effect on his Counterjihad tendencies. Ratzinger, too, was
wary of the Muslim, and particularly Turkish, threat to Europe, but became a bland multicultist when in office. He might surprise us, though, as non-Europeans tend not to be as intimidated by political correctness, and Africa is on the frontlines of the Jihad. And there it's still the old skool jihad of killing, raping and burning, not the stealth Jihad we have to endure in the West.
One good thing about the election of the new Pope is that we can be fairly sure it won't be a Muslim. In this day and age, though, can we be absolutely sure?

It would speed up the Africanization of Europe, as he would undoubtedly lobby for open borders with Africa.
An African pope would also be the anti-whites' wet dream. It would be a huge shot in the arm for them and embolden them to persecute whites even more.
PS--it would also embolden the Africans already in the West to commit more crimes against us.

On Damian Thompson's blog at the Daily Telegraph, there's a list of "10 reasons for Catholics to give thanks for Pope Benedict" (it's reprinted from a Catholic newspaper in Britain). This particular 'reason' is quite telling, if this really is the mindset of Catholics in Britain about Islam:-
"His outreach to Islam: Pope Benedict did not shrink when his Regensburg lecture was violently misunderstood in parts of the Islamic world. While apologising for unintended offence, he stood by his address which called for an alliance between Catholics and Muslims in our secular age. Agreed. But what could Pope Benedict do except to extend love to his enemies. If he did anything else but that, he would be accused by our traitorous media as being a Nazi. But that wouldn't frighten Pope Benedict - it would be the judgment of God that he would fear.

Oh by the way. I would never accuse Pope Benedict of being ignorant on matters of theology or the doctrine of Islam. By any measure, Pope Benedict is very intelligent and very highly educated.

Too true. Isaac Newton was not just stupid but insane. So too was Dalton ( in case you don't know, the founder of atomic physics). In the interests of clarity, I am Anonymous #4 above, who posted an excerpt from "10 reasons for Catholics to give thanks for Pope Benedict", the one re this supposed 'dialogue' and 'outreach' to Islam. I read Benedict's Regensburg Lecture when it was first made public and I did not interpret it, as did the writer to those "10 Reasons...", to be "a call for an alliance between Catholics and Muslims in our secular age." On the contrary, the Pope seemed to be explaining what both men of religious faith, and those of none, should be able to recognise: that reason is not in opposition to faith, and that Christian belief is one of the foundations of reason, and science, in our Civilisation. In that respect ,Islam, with its practice, and law, of death for the perceived crime of 'apostasy,' thus denies free will, which is a necessary condition for the exercise of both faith, and of science. I therefore had hoped to see a Pope who would unite the Western world in clear opposition to Islam and its wholly negative effect on the world, not one who would engage in the dangerous and time-wasting absurdity of unconstructive 'dialogue' while millions continue to die and our freedoms of speech and conscience are further threatened and eroded. My personal view is that Christ has already won, and that we are called to manifest that victory by, at the very least, a refusal to 'dialogue' with Evil.

Exactly. People do not realise the barbaric state that Europe had fallen into after the demise of Rome. There many reasons that science (natural philosophy), did not start with the Greeks even though they had a head start in mathematics, but one is the reason you alluded to. Christianity brought in
1. the concept of linear time,
2. God is not just true but true in manifestation ie is not perverse.in reason and nature. Thus, cause and effect holding true, becomes the basis for repeatability of measurements.
For a small and persecuted people to transform and knit a civilisation that is now universal, defies imagination.

I take your point. I too would have liked a more vigorous response. But, one does not know the political pressures that were on Pope Benedict. Our MSMand politicians are dhimmified, lock stock and barrel. They were chomping at the bit to thrash him. The pope though, did not rise to the bait, but apologised only for any hurt feelings. In that he showed compassion for Muslims as humans, which is correct while not conceding any issue of principle.
It would be hard to find a person of the intellectual, philosophic and spiritual callibre as Pope Benedict.
It would be nice for people posting as "anonymous" to leave some kind of ID that identifies one "anonymous" from another.

I'll just be anonymous like anyone else on here but let me say this: the papacy under its Lumen Gentium documents etc. avows Islam as a true way to God. The Jesuitical equivocation of Benedict re Islam therefore should come as no surprise. Also, if you had eyes to see, you would see that there are bishops praising Islam. In fine: the papacy is corrupt. It is and always was, after political power. Any pope is hamstrung by the papacy's ambitions and its worldview. The next pope will be a liability just like all the others. Islam will only be defeated, as will the papal system, by the pure gospel of Jesus Christ shining into the hearts of the people of Europe. Islam has been raised up by God as a judgement on a wicked Western civilization where sodomy and abortion and injustice thrive. But the pain it causes must reach the point where people can no longer ignore it before there will be any turning point. May God help us all. Oh, and it is Christianity, true Christianity, in fact protestantism, which made the Western world advance before it abandoned God for secularism and science, so called.

The relevant part of Lumen Gentium, to which I believe you refer, is point 16 which states in part:-
"But the plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator. In the first place amongst these there are the Mohamedans, who professing to hold the faith of Abraham, along with us adore the one and merciful God, who on the last day will judge mankind."
That is, to my mind, a statement which denies the Divinity of Christ, the Fatherhood of the True God and the Holy Spirit. Mohamedanism, Islam, has nothing to do with the Triune God. 'allah' is not a god of mercy, nor does it profess any love for its creation, demanding only servitude of its 'slave', and that 'allah' "on the last day will judge mankind" will involve requiring all to 'submit' or face death.
I first read the full doctrinal statement which includes Article 16 years after it was issued by Pope Paul VI on 21st November, 1964. By that time, the Moslems had issued their "Common Word" which I believe acted upon this quite wrong, indeed I would say, heretical, statement of the Pope. The "Common Word" harped upon Western ignorance of the Koran, by stating that Moslems, Christians and Jews all worshiped the monotheistic god (who has "no Lords" besides him: this is a statement in the "Common Word" document which is an Islamic reference to the passage in the Koran which specifically denies the Divinity of Christ). What a reflection on the Vatican, and the Papacy, that the Moslems felt confident about their "Common Word" taqiyya because the then Pope had, perhaps without fully realising the enormity of it, denied the Holy Trinity. We are all --- whatever our beliefs --- suffering in our struggles to defeat Islam and its evil nature, because of this Vatican statement.
