I've made various posts about Imran Firasat here. In the comments section below some of them, (usually anonymous) posters have made various allegations about him having an unsavoury past, including the specific claim that he committed a murder in Indonesia. I've assumed that this was part of a campaign my Muslims to discredit a critic of Islam, and still think that is the most likely explanation.

But some of these allegations are now being reported in Spain's mainstream press, which is certainly a step up in seriousness. So, just to make the information available so we can all arrive a mature judgement, I'll translate some of the claims being made about him in the newspapers.
The Pakistani has various antecedents in his police file, in which a claim from the Indonesian authorities for an alleged crime of kidnap and murder stands out.

...On checking the asylum that Firasat had been granted in Spain because he was the object of religious persecution in his country and for humanitarian reasons, the police found out that he had various antecedents, including arrests in Spain for his alleged involvement in a case of robbery.
Source: El País

The story above is from El País, probably Spain's leading newspaper, albeit one with a left-wing bias.

The story below appeared in El Mundo two years ago, on 25 November 2010.
The National Police has arrested a Pakistani fugitive in Madrid who is being sought by the Indonesian authorities for dismembering a man and dividing up his remains in bags and suitcases last June. The detainee had appeared in various Spanish media outlets claiming to have been the victim of religious persecution in his country.

According to police information, the arrested man, Imran Firasat, 32, lived for several years with his wife and children in Cantabria [Spain], from where he fled in 2007 with a large quantity of money and numerous debts, after opening various restaurants with other partners whom he may have defrauded.

During the time he was in Spain, he appeared together with his wife in various media outlets insisting that he was the victim of persecution in his country, and even that he had suffered an amputation for religious reasons.

After fleeing to Indonesia and committing the murder, he returned to Spain in September of this year and settled in Cordoba, where, after a week of trial employment in a restaurant, he attacked the owner and stole 6,000 euros of the takings.

The arrested man was finally located when he tried to go through a subway entrance in the Spanish capital, with 1,250 euros in his pocket and his documentation.

At the moment of his arrest, the man was again in a period of trial employment with another restaurant in Madrid.

An international arrest warrant for extradition was issued for the arrested man by the Indonesian authorities, who suspected that he might be in Spain.

The officers involved in the case believe he had arrived 20 days ago in Madrid, where he shared a residence with various people.

The kidnap and murder were committed in June 2010 in Indonesia. The perpetrators contacted the victim under the pretext of creating a web page and took advantage of the encounter to kidnap him and demand a ransom for his liberation.

The crime ended in murder by stabbing and later dismembering, keeping the different parts of the body in bags in refrigerated chambers and in various suitcases, to disperse them later in different places within the city of Karawang.
Source: El Mundo

El Mundo is, again, a very serious newspaper, with a right-wing bias this time. The article was accompanied by a video that showed a handcuffed man, who was clearly Imran Firasat, being led into a police station. Since this story appeared two years ago, though, it begs the question of why Imran Firasat would still be at liberty today if the allegations had any substance. Also, if you had committed a murder in another country and then fled justice, you would have to be a complete fool to put yourself in the international spotlight by making an anti-Mohammed film.

Todas ellas probadas falsas.

Tarnishing Imran Firasat: How Muslims Lie?

...When they tried to frame him into the murder case, and asked to hand him over, the Spanish authority smelled something fishy in the case. Spanish detectives launched its own investigation before complying with the Indonesian request. And when it found no credible evidence to link the murder to Imran, it asked the Indonesian authority to present its evidence in a Spain court, so that they could review them before handing Imran over to the Indonesian authority. Despite repeated requests, the Indonesian government did not send its law enforcement officials to present the evidence they have against Imran. Eventually, Imran was cleared of the allegations by the Spanish court...

Dear editor

This is Imran Firasat. Thanks for publishing this article about my past. Ofcourse you have the complete right to know the truth and clarify the situation. but please never reach to a judgement simply by reading some articles in the media. all the articles you have mentioned here are from 2010. since then many things have happened. I have faced trials and was acquitted from each allegation. somewhere it was the islamic conspiracy against me and somewhere the circumstances were born against me. but I am a free man and up to today I have no criminal record in Spain and I will never have one as I have cleaned my name. Yes I was arrested by the spanish authorities when Indonesia asked my extradition alleging me falsely of a murder. but they were refused my extradition as the spanish judges found that the allegations made by the islamic authorities of Indonesia are religiously motivated and that they hide several facts. as the conclusion all what I want to say is that newspapers can write anything but the justice system is above than all and that justice system of spain has acquitted me from everything. I have no worries to provide you any document which you ask from my side to clarify my criminal record issued by the ministry of justice in Spain (which will prove that my name is clear). In this difficult situation rather than your doubts, I need your support to fight for the truth.

Thank you very much.IMRAN FIRASAT

For us, to fully support you and take actions, it is 100% necessary to know the proven truth en be convinced you're innocend. I know Indonesia is corrupt as hell and that the truth can be for sale there but these rumors must be elucidated. Mail me pls. info@amsterdampost.nl

I have lived in Java for a long time, in fact since the early 90,s, which where pretty dangerous times, what with the fall of Suharto and the Islamist upsurge. My first encounter with islam,( was not like most anti-jihadis today who started to wake up after WTC 9/11), was a riot in Situbondo, East Java, nov 1996, which I witnessed. On that day 28 churches where burnt and several people where murdered. This riot was the first of three, that where directed at Ethnic Chinese (Christians), also where the islamists where making moves against the Suharto regime.

There is an excellent book which details the problems facing the Ethnic Chinese in Indonesia

http://books.google.co.id/books?hl=en&lr=&id=2FFi5zvuWrkC&oi=fnd&pg=PR9&dq=1998+ethnic+chinese+buddhists+flee+indonesia&ots=WFMhKBSDul&sig=psujxGI8huH4njifr0-_Ml5mwxY&redir_esc=y#v=onepage&q&f=false

Nearly two years later, were incidents of mass violence that occurred throughout Indonesia, mainly in Medan in the province of North Sumatra (4–8 May), the capital city of Jakarta (12–15 May), and Surakarta (also called Solo) in the province of Central Java (13–15 May). The riots were triggered by economic problems including food shortages and mass unemployment, and eventually led to the resignation of President Suharto and the fall of the New Order government.

Provocateurs, suspected to be military, goaded rioters, screaming ethnic insults like "Cina babi!" (English: The Chinese are pigs!) and "Ganyang Cina!" (English: Crush the Chinese!). The provocateurs also shouted commands, directing the riots towards Chinese-owned businesses and away from Native Indonesian-owned ones.[65]
In this climate of fear, between 10,000 and 100,000 ethnic Chinese, who made up about 3–5% of Indonesia's population, fled the country.
There were dozens of documented accounts of ethnic Chinese women being raped. Other sources note over 1,500 people were killed and over 468 (168 victims in Jakarta alone) were mass gang-raped in the riots.[70] There is a possibility of 5000 dead. TRUK recorded 168 cases of sexual assault, with 152 in Jakarta and the remaining 16 in Surakarta, Medan, Palembang, and Surabaya; of these victims, twenty had died by 14 July 1998.

The U.S. State Department noted in its report:

Following the riots, allegations of mass gang-rape of ethnic Chinese women became an international head line news, forcing the Government to establish a fact-finding team to investigate the riots and rapes. The team found that elements of the Indonesia military special forces (Kopassus) had been involved in the riots, some of which were deliberately provoked. The U.N. Human Rights Council visited Indonesia also verified 66 rapes victims who came forward, the majority of whom were Sino-Indonesian, as well as numerous other acts of violence against women.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/May_1998_riots_of_Indonesia#Effect_on_Chinese_Indonesian_communities

So against this background, I felt very skeptical when I first read about Imran Firasat, who claims he partner is Ethnic Chinese Buddhist, and he met her in a shopping mall in Lahore, trying to get to the USA, four years after the riots. This just does not add up. He claims his partners family where murdered during the riots, so what is a Buddhist doing in a country which is one of the least friendly towards Buddhists. Even more strange, his partner, Jenny Setiawan should partner up with a muslim, especially after her family where murdered.

The ethnic Chinese who had the money fled to Singapore, USA and Australia. It does not make sense, she passes over Buddhist friendly places such as Singapore, Bangkok and even at a push Burma, to go to a Buddhist hostile place as Pakistan. Buddhist are fleeing Pakistan, not flocking to pakistan

So Pakistani muslim Firasat arrives in Frankfurt on a flight from Bangkok,

The end of September this year, he fled across Bangkok to Frankfurt. When the plane on 30 September, ends up at 6 clock, Imran Firasat and Jenny Setiawan, think they were safe. But German officials do not believe a word. The interrogating BGS officers, told Firasat. "You lie, you lie," was the officer called. And his pregnant girlfriend, who had been in pain, had been told that if they had survived the flight to Germany, they could also hold out the survey.

Have at the hearing before the decision of the Federal Office then been many communication problems with the interpreter says Firasat, who speaks fluent English. The Federal Office rejected the asylum application as "manifestly unfounded" from. "This is a non-married couple living together in Pakistan almost unthinkable" says the decision. 'm Sure prison or even death. Therefore it must be assumed that Firasat "would certainly not have dared to live with his Buddhist life partner together" it. The decision-makers believe that the entire story is fiction and that "here is clearly trying to construct the presentation of an existing community in Pakistan". They could deport the "alleged" couple, they conclude.

I would like to add she does not look typical ethnic chinese

Frankfurt · 22 November · · thie Refugees Jenny Setiawan and Imran Firasat allowed with her toddler Aman enter Germany. A spokesman for the Interior Ministry in Berlin told the Frankfurter Rundschau reported on Monday evening. "The family can enter," said ministry spokesman Dirk Inger. The case was re-examined. The decision was made by the Federal Ministry of the Interior.

"There is no change to the legal opinion," said Inger. "The decision is made on humanitarian grounds." During the attempted deportation to Indonesia have shown that it is not possible to deport the family, without separating them. Now that would be allowed entry. Nor late Monday night, the family could leave the refugee camp at the airport. Located so that they are no longer in the airport procedure, but in the normal asylum procedure.

Pregnant woman in hospital

The family had been arrested last Tuesday by the Federal Border Guard (BGS) initially deported to Indonesia. Since Imran Firasat originates from Pakistan, the Indonesian authorities refused him entry. In response, the BGS, the refugees back to Frankfurt.

The 28-hour flight was for the very pregnant Jenny Setiawan and for her child elfmonatiges an enormous burden. Setiawan is currently being treated in the municipal hospitals in stationary high because after the ordeal the risk of premature birth there, said the lawyer for the refugees, Elke Becke.

The refugee organization Pro Asyl welcomed the decision of the Ministry. "In order for the torture is over," said Officer Bernd Mesovic. It is, however, a "hindsight". "The flight could have been spared the woman also."

Not much can be found about the Pakistani muslim Firasat, until he ends up in Spain, following the advice of an African encountered in the Frankfurt detention center they decided to leave Germany for Spain, in fact he said the legislation is more permissive in Spain than in other countries.

Once in Spain their application for asylum is rejected at the first stage as they could expect. The Dublin agreement signed by all European countries in the Schengen area specifies that a person may not make an application for asylum in one of the European countries, and that the country responsible for examining the application of asylum is the country where she trod the ground first, so in the case of this couple in Germany.

Again the press coverage of the situation of this couple has been impressive. This is what makes an asylum seeker, atypical since love stories broken, broken families and persecution cases of asylum applications are full. The question is why this case is so publicized. By analyzing the content of articles published in the German press first, then Spanish can be perhaps get an idea.

Forbidden Love between a muslim and Buddhist, a Bollywood Romeo and juliet

What is most striking is the evolution of your articles on them. Initially, the articles about revolves around the theme of the defense of the family situation of the couple: what matters most to Imran is the happiness of his family, we do not separate from his wife and children, all he wants is a quiet life. (Which we see later is not the case)
In Germany about the press focuses on the humanitarian situation of the couple on the attitude of the police response to this pregnant woman and her young child, emphasizes the inhumanity of separating families with infants . In Spain itself, the papers emphasize the precarious situation of the couple but economically support the population they enjoy Cantabria. The love story that crosses continents and defies religious obscurantism this love stronger than anything, please. But gradually emerges when the possibility of a new asylum application Imran change of tone.
With Spanish law, it is possible to file a second time an asylum application if the elements of persecution have changed..so the muslim Firasat converts away from islam because and make it impossible to return to Pakistan.
He was granted Special protection for humanitarian reasons

Now Firast claims he was granted because of a real risk of suffering grave damages to his/ her life, for anti-islam remarks.

Subsidiary protection: With the new law the benefits of the subsidiary protection status are similar to those of a refugee status. According to article 4 of the law, it is given to persons that not fulfill the requirements for a refugee status, but about whom there are sufficient elements to consider that the person is at a real risk of suffering grave damages to his/ her life, personal integrity or grave threats provoked by an armed conflict or generalized violence.

Special protection for humanitarian reasons: According to article 46.2 of the law, for reasons different to those of the previous situations, the State can authorize the permanence of the person in the country under the general migration regime. This is applied in a very exceptional basis.

Achieved the goal of regularizing their situation of stateless persons, the couple opened a catering business in Amaro de Santander Group, called 'Kebabish'. This name would form a partnership with two marriages Cantabrians who took their case against them for corporate crime about a month ago: After opening three stores (the Group Amaro, one in Menendez Pelayo and a third in Marquis de la Hermida), the young and wife's pierced without financial backers were aware of it. Hence the complaint document forgery and mismanagement.

Have taken flight, leaving a trail of victims and debts behind. Imran Firasat and Jenny Setiawan, Cantabria political refugees who have to face justice for the complaint that its partners Santander have brought them, have left the apartment in which they lived and the city. And the lawyer for the plaintiffs and the judge has requested a warrant for his arrest for the country. For many Cantabrians who turned to help them for their hard personal history, Pakistan and Indonesia have been a great disappointment.

Firasat and Setiawan managed temporary authorization to reside in Cantabria in view of the exceptional circumstances: marriage between Muslim and Buddhist is punished by both religions, which prevented them from returning to either of their home countries. At this region from Germany, Firasat moved like fish in water between institutions and media. Even organized an online campaign to support their cause. (Just like he is doing now)

One of the complainants also had rented a house. Since they stopped paying rent a few months ago, is open a process of eviction.

There were these the only 'irregularities' committed by the political asylees.

Maite Calderon owns a signage company, has also filed a complaint with the police after finding that the Pakistani handed him a check without funds amounting to just under 600 euros. The entrepreneur says that is not the money itself that bothers him ("I do not expect it back"), but the "tremendous disappointment." "I've got a staff joke. When I got the check dated February, he was preparing to flee. "

Calderon previously did not know the history of immigrants by the media-is aware that the boy "had a wide circle of people who supported him. They all offered to do his business partners. It is now clear that his only goal was to give them the stick. "

She did not think it so easy to find him. "It would be a fluke," he says. A fortune for those who have run out of charge, he says, "because there have been people, as suppliers of the bars, which has left duty."

Worse is the family that endorsed in their business. A few days ago he learned that they will have to pay the bank the amount by which responded and are very upset.

And also in the regional government known to , that award a grant that to them to start their business with specific conditions that, if not met, should be returned.

For this reason it has opened an investigation, as have validated the former partners of Pakistan and the situation first complainants, who are moving heaven and earth to find him.

Firasat Claims he was chased out of Spain for anti-islam activity, seems he went to China, and then was deported to, not Spain, but to Indonesia,

Strange.

I can find only one thing that Firasat wrote against Islam, prior to him introducing himself and lobbying for support In 2011. It is hard to image the islamist getting worked up over his letter tp the Editor

Office of terrorism
Every week there are arrivals of illegal immigrants to Spain, mostly by boats, but not only: many illegal immigrants arrive in Spain by plane and some cross the border illegally separating us from Europe. We must seriously think that illegal immigration affects the security of citizens and the future of Spain.
I do not write this letter to be against immigration, I am Pakistani-based in Cantabria, but to get the attention of the Government of Spain and the Spanish, because this illegal immigration occurs in 80 percent of Muslim countries. While I know that not all Muslims are bad immigrants or criminals, one-tenth of them are. In these Muslim countries education can be a radical education, where they taught to hate and revenge. They are educated in Islamic law, which is not compatible with the Western world. We must learn a lesson from the Madrid bombings, where nearly all those convicted were Muslims.
Twenty years ago England and the United States made a mistake in allowing the free Muslim immigration to their countries. If Spain repeats the same error, in a few years we will live in Spain with the same shade of fear that English and American are living now, not knowing when there will be an explosion in a bus, train or in a mall.
I ask the Spanish government not to let this beautiful and peaceful country into another office of terrorism.

So our bogus Christian and bogus take the infidels money and head to Indonesia. The Firasats magically had no problems to live in Indonesia,

Here we see the same thing again, starting up of a kebab business, but this time it was not only kebabs that where cut up.

Very little is known what the fraudsters where up to, as there is very little written about them. He claims he was speaking out against islam

Those incidents motivated me to try to help the Indonesian Muslims out of their Islamic Jihad illusion. I started blogging and publishing books in Indonesian language showing the real face of Quran and Muhammad, hoping that it will change the mentality of Muslims, which I did in fictitious names in order not to get caught by the Indonesia’s Jihadis or Islamic police.
I got huge support by Indonesian Muslims on social networking sites and used to receive thousands of email messages expressing their solidarity with me. On the other side, I also made, as expected, many enemies, including all the Islamic radical groups, who were trying to trace me down. Many news were published in the Indonesian media about my blogs and my criticisms of Islam and Muhammad
http://www.islam-watch.org/authors/151-firasat/1228-imran-firasat-my-true-story.html
Anybody who has lived in Java, will know that Firasat is lying, you just do not criticise islam. And if he had been caught for such a crime then the islamists would know due to the fact that the police and islamists are thick as thieves, and there is no he could buy himself out.
As for Firast, He is not what you would like him to be, I live in Indonesia, and if what he says is true about his anti-jihad activities, then we here in Indo would have heard about it.
Tangerang, where he was living is a hotspot for Islamist such as FPI, here they go hand in hand with the police, so there is no way the FPI did not know about this case. If what he says is true then it would have been big news. Much bigger than a murder. You don't see the islamist protesting murder, but blasphemy they come out in force.
There was a murder June 10, 2010,
Firasat left Indo July 7, 2010
Triana Dengah Firasat,s mistress was arrested July I0, 2010
Firasat claims they had actually conducted a full trial and convicted him July 16, 2010, this is the date an arrest warrant was issued, and Firasat had left Indonesia
This claim is not possible, things do not work that fast here
July 16, 2010, this is the date an arrest warrant was issued, and Firasat had left Indonesia
Also
Director General of Criminal Investigation Metro Jaya Police Commissioner Rudolf Nahak Herrera told reporters on Thursday Dec 23 2010
all those involved will be charged with murder in conjunction with Article 338 of the Book of the Law 340 of the Penal Code on premeditated murder with a maximum penalty of death.
Because the maximum penalty is death, Spain will not send him back to Indonesia

There is a lot of questions about his wife, why is he not campaigning to get her out of Indonesia, which he would get support, seeing that one of his children is Spanish.

So much for hero for love, taking up with a mistress and leaving his wife and kids in indonesia.

A muslim that leaves Islam just does not go back to a muslim country.

And thank you for taking the time to read the above.

Cheradenine Zakalwe said...

Is there any record of him blogging or publishing books about Islam in Indonesian?

Anonymous said...

No, there is nothing.

The first blog he started in Indonesian is Situs Anti Islam Indonesia which he started Nov 2011

http://situsantiislamindonesia.wordpress.com/2011/11/

I have been anti-jihad blogging from Indonesia for the last 10 years, and so it seem strange the caught him so quickly.

There are a few expats who are vey much awake as to what is going on, if what Firasat is true, the it would have been reported.

There is no way he can bribe out of this, the islamist would riot if he was allowed free.

Thats the way it is here.

Also. He would not be able to publish any anti islam Books, not publisher would take the risk, just look at the problems the publishers of Playboy have

Cheradenine Zakalwe said...

His wife is still in Indonesia, right? Does she do media appearances? If so, can you tell from her voice whether she is Indonesian? Presumably, she must have Indonesian citizenship otherwise they wouldn't have let her in?

Cheradenine Zakalwe said...

Where did you get the information about an African advising him to try his luck in Spain?

"following the advice of an African encountered in the Frankfurt detention center they decided to leave Germany for Spain, in fact he said the legislation is more permissive in Spain than in other countries. "

Anonymous said...

There is some strangeness about his wife. In the media she is named as Linna Serachman,

Linna Serachman/Jenny Setiawan, was sentenced to eight months for making fake passport for Imran Firasat.

Triana Dengah, 20 year old mistress of Firasat was sentenced to nine years in prison,

Yes she is still In indonesia.

Firasat normally, shows documents to support what he says, whether they are false or not is another matter.

He is now claiming he refugee status is being revoked, yet he is not showing any documents to support his claim.

Spain has the right to revoke his status, if he made fraudulent claims when applying asylum, both him and his wife went to indonesia shortly after being granted asylum, thus exposing their scam.

Firasat is not informing the public about islam, he is attempting to create a situation where it is impossible to send him away.

"following the advice of an African encountered in the Frankfurt detention center they decided to leave Germany for Spain, in fact he said the legislation is more permissive in Spain than in other countries. "

Suivant les conseils d’une africain rencontré dans le centre de rétention de l’aéroport ils décident de quitter l’Allemagne pour l’Espagne, en effet selon lui la législation est plus permissive en Espagne que dans d’autres pays.

So what does Firasat have to say, I have given a few links to show that he and his wife did leave Spain without paying rent, also not repaying a grant.

The people who claim they where cheated by Firasat, are not Pakistans or Muslims, but Spanish,

Mr Jose Fernando Fontaneda Aparicio. who was not only cheated out of three months rent, but according to one source, €30.000.000

The question arise, where did the money come from to support, a family of five for nearly two years, Indonesia is not like Spain, there is no social security.

Where did the money come from to set up business in Indonesia, to do this, requires a lot of cash, because unlike spain, a lot of bribes have to be paid for all the different paper work.

If we stop listening to what Firasat says a do our own research, the it begins to become very apparent that Firasat is not all what he sats he is.

He claims to have published books in Indonesia, doesn't this strike you as being rather odd. How can the police islamist get Firasat, and ignore the publishers.

By the way, I am not an islamist
