Muslims get ready to take over a new country: the Ivory Coast. The West applauds the takeover. And because of political correctness, no one anywhere in the mainstream media landscape discusses what's happening in the terms in which it should be discussed: those of the global jihad.

Imagine talking about the war between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union without mentioning the fact that the Germans were Nazis and the Soviets Communists!

This is yet another country that "went Muslim" once the demographic tipping point was reached after being predominantly Christian throughout living memory.

No, not on Lampedusa. From Mayotte. But Mayotte may soon turn into a French Lampedusa. Mayotte is an island in the Indian Ocean, off the eastern coast of Africa, which today officially became part of France. It has a population of 200,000 Muslims, and its legal system and culture incorporates a kind of soft sharia that tolerates such things as polygamy and girls getting married at 15.

The inhabitants, only around half of whom can speak French, voted overwhelmingly in a referendum to incorporate with France. Sarkozy promised tomake it happen. The French people themselves were not consulted. Mayotte has several other countries within boat range with large numbers of dirt-poor Muslims. You can be sure many will be heading there soon. Indeed, there are already around 60,000 illegal immigrants there, compared with an indigenous population of 200,000. In addition, the fact that there is no proper register of births, deaths or property transfers will make it very easy for illegal immigrants to advance false claims to citizenship. Pregnant Muslim women from the nearby Comoros islands already come to Mayotte to give birth, meaning their children are considered French and therefore cannot be expelled.

Although the video is from two years ago when the referendum on integrating with France was held, it still gives a flavour of the place. Unsurprisingly, 95% of these third worlders voted to integrate with France. And the French and EU taxpayers will now be picking up the tab.

Hat-tips to François Desouche and Valeurs Actuelles.
This story is almost surreal. 19 "Muslim and Asian" youths with a track record of violence - some of them on bail for a hammer attack - are rewarded with a trip to the seaside to "distract" them from an EDL march due to be held in Dudley that day.

While there, they engaged in "racist chanting" and attacked a British man for no reason, rendering him unconscious. When the case came to court, they even got a judge with a Muslim-sounding name: Judge Amjad Nawaz. Fortunately, he sent them to jail. The trip to the seaside cost more than £2000, not counting the costs of incarceration and processing the Muslim thugs through the criminal justice system.

Chf Supt Mark Robinson, from Sandwell Police, said: ''A decision was taken by Safer Sandwell Partnership to take a number of youths away from the area, who had been identified as having the potential to get involved in any disorder that could occur as a result of the demonstrations.
"Whilst we feel that the decision to try and prevent any potential violence among local youths was the right one, clearly the events that followed were hugely disappointing."

WTF is going on in this country? At a time when there are massive cuts in public expenditure, and mass redundancies in the public and private sectors, councils are wasting taxpayer money giving Muslim criminals free trips to the seaside so they can be "distracted" from committing crimes when British citizens are holding a lawful demonstrations to articulate their point of view on an issue of public importance? How insane is this?

There's an article in the French newspaper La Libération today calling for Tunisia to be admitted to the European Union. Libération is like a French equivalent of the Guardian. Here's a flavour:

The keyword for the events underway in Tunisia is "transition", exactly as other countries in the larger European region have experienced it: Greece, Portugal, Spain, the countries of Eastern Europe. In this sense, Tunisia could become a potential candidate for accession...

For the EU, Tunisia could be the laboratory for the first accession of an Arab country, This would demonstrate that there is no discrimination with regards to countries of the South and/or Muslims; that new North-South relations are possible on a regional scale.

It would be nice to think this was an April fool come a bit early, but I fear not. But, hey, it would solve the illegal immigration problem in Lampedusa, wouldn't it? Then they'd all be EU citizens and could just stroll right in.
This whole Libyan adventure was a supreme folly. I opposed it from the first for the reasons set out here. But this cack-handed intervention has made things even worse from our perspective.

Why? It has made Gaddafi bitter. It allows us almost no control over the outcome. And, since the airstrikes haven't worked too well and NATO-traitor Turkey may block them in future, they're now talking about giving serious weapons to the rebels, many of whom are jihadist wackjobs. This would come back to haunt us just as it did in Afghanistan.

Let's look at the two scenarios:

1) The Gaddafi regime falls. The rebels take over. What happens then? Many of the rebels are jihadists, some affiliated with Al Qaeda, as even officialdom has now been forced to admit. Are they going to establish an authentic democracy that respects civilised standards of behaviour? Are they going to honour existing oil contracts and grant favourable oil concessions to us in future? Are they going to keep the African hordes out of Europe as Gaddafi did? It seems much more likely that they would want to use Mohammedan immigration as a weapon to islamify Europe, as Turkey is doing. If they don't play ball, what are we going to do? We could blatantly invade the country at that point but it would much harder to present it as a humanitarian intervention than if we invaded now.

2) Gaddafi wins. He will obviously be bitter and seeking revenge. Some have touted the possibility that he could sponsor further terrorist attacks against the West. This is certainly not inconceivable, but most likely he would be too frightened to do this, fearing direct western intervention. He did, however, explicitly threaten to turn on the immigration tap if Europe intervened against him, declaring:

Tripoli will stop the combat against illegal immigration and millions of black people will come to Europe.

And I think we can assume he won't be interesting in granting any favourable oil contracts to the West if he stays in power. Instead, the Chinese and Russians will cash in.

So whichever way you look at it, the outcomes look bleak from the perspective of the civilised world, and we have almost no power to affect them. We are mere spectators of events. All we can do is lob some bombs to even out the odds among the various contending factions.

If we intervened directly, however, we would be able to shape the outcome. I doubt Gaddafi's forces would be able to put up much resistance to a serious western invasion force. Once on the ground, we could

1) Attack the jihadists as well as Gaddafi's forces (fog of war and all that or just say they were a dissident, extremist faction of the rebels)
2) Install a puppet dictator who will do what we want. (Obviously we shouldn't say this outright. Just hold democratic elections and rig them so our favoured candidate wins, just as we've done in Iraq and Afghanistan.)
3) Steal the Libyan oil. Make sure the contracts go to the right people at the right price.

We could secure these favourable outcomes from an occupation that would probably not have to last longer than a year. Or we could take the Dave route. Drop bombs, arm the jihadists, cross our fingers, wait, and see what happens.

Muslims have torched dozens of Christian churches in Ethiopia in recent weeks and at least one person has been killed.

Anti-Christian violence has arisen in the traditionally Christian country where once Jews also lived in harmony. Muslims make up but one-third of the total population but more than 90 percent of the population in certain areas. One of those areas is Besheno where, on November 9, all the Christians in the city woke up to find notes on their doors warning them to convert to Islam, leave the city or face death. Three Christian leaders were forced to flee the city and two Christians were forced to convert to Islam. Christians in Besheno have been targeted by Muslims for many years. On May 21, 2004, Muslims murdered the 7 year-old daughter of Evangelical pastor Tesfaye Hobe. Muslims continuously attack Christians for listening to Christian songs and watching Christian videos.

Source

In itself this isn't particularly remarkable, nor is the fact that you most likely haven't heard about it on the news. Such attacks are a matter of routine throughout much of the Ummah, and the western media systematically covers up news that would show Muslims in a bad light.

What makes it especially interesting, though, as FrontpageMag notes, is the way Islam came to Ethiopia.

Around 615, when the pagan Quraysh were persecuting Muhammad’s outnumbered Muslim followers in Arabia, some fled to Ethiopia seeking sanctuary. The Christian king, or “Negus” of Ethiopia, welcomed and protected these Muslim fugitives, ignoring Quraysh demands to return them—and thus winning Muhammad’s gratefulness.

So a kindly Christian king granted Muslim asylum-seekers refuge in Ethiopia because he felt sorry for them. And now, centuries later, his people are murdered and their Christian churches torched because of this solitary act of kindness. And it will be the same in Europe. The compassionate impulses that have led us to allow millions of Mohammedans to settle in Europe will ensure that future generations of Europeans face persecution at the hands of the Muslims just as Ethiopians are doing now. Unless we rid our continent of the Mohammedan presence within the next few decades, before it has become too late.
A court has ordered that the "hate speech" trial of Geert Wilders is to resume in the Netherlands. Wilders' lawyers had petitioned for the dismissal of the case but the court rejected most of their arguments, ruling that he could be prosecuted for disseminating the Fitna film even though it was hosted on an American computer. It did, however, accept that he should no longer be prosecuted for calling the Koran a fascist book and calling for it to be banned.

Look at these savages. There is no effective policing. This is a film from Italian television showing one of the "detention" camps in mainland Italy. You can appreciate it even if you don't understand Italian. These savages are now free to roam Europe.

About 2,000 ethnic Albanians have gathered to protest against the EU police mission, whose arrest of former rebels suspected of war crimes has sparked anger among veterans of the 1998-99 Kosovo war. The protesters chanted “Down with Eulex”, the name for the 2,000-strong EU mission, and carried banners Tuesday supporting the Kosovo Liberation Army that fought for cessation from Serbia. The EU police mission is in charge of prosecuting war crimes in Kosovo. A former government minister was among 11 former rebels suspected of torturing and killing Serb captives and their ethnic Albanian collaborators. Nine are already in jail. About 10,000 people, mostly ethnic Albanians, died in the war. Kosovo declared independence from Serbia in 2008.

It's poignant that when the government that is supposed to protect them instead betrays them, people are forced to resort to these desperate measures:

Residents of the Italian island of Lampedusa, which has been under a constant influx of migrants from Tunisia since mid-January, have blocked the island’s harbor in protest Tuesday. Residents blocked a street and a pier of the port shouting nobody will pass there. There were also protests over immigration at a local council meeting. A few claimed illegal immigrants had robbed them and that they also fear epidemics and that Lampedusa will become Alcatraz. The Italian Cabinet of Ministers is said to be discussing options for resettling the immigrants from Lampedusa to other provinces of the country. Earlier on Monday, fishermen towed empty boats seized from illegal migrants across the entrance of Lampedusa's harbor in an attempt to prevent any other vessels carrying North Africans from reaching the tiny island. More than 3,000 new migrants have arrived on the island of 5,000 residents in the last three days alone, with the total number of migrants topping 15,000 since mid-January.

For some reason, I can never quite get over the Guardian's surrender of all the liberal values it once cherished to raise instead the black banner of jihad against the western world. Year after year, as Turkish democracy has been strangled bit by bit by the ascendant AKP jihadists, the Guardian has run a never-ending succession of puff pieces about it that might as well have been written by the Turkish foreign ministry. Of course the Guardian desperately wants Turkey to get into the European Union because it knows that, if it does, Europe will inevitably be transformed into Eurabia; all uncertainty about the outcome will be removed at that point.

But you would think they might at least still have some principles as they trot off down the road with their new jihadist friends. It seems not. Recently Turkey has been stepping up its censorship activities to a quite shocking degree. I discuss this in more detail on my StopTurkey site here, but, in summary, the Turkish government mounted raids on Friday to confiscate and destroy all copies of a book that hasn't been published yet. The book alleges that the Fethullah Gulen organisation, a bizarre non-violent jihadist network that advocates taking control of government through the infiltration of state institutions, has thoroughly penetrated the Turkish police.

Today, instead of covering this, the Guardian runs an opinion piece saying that anyone who talks about censorship in Turkey is part of a big anti-Turkish Zionist conspiracy.

Colleagues working on the same newspaper as the author of the article were arrested in the raids last week. Yet he doesn't even mention it! Read the comments from Turkish people complaining about how free speech is being strangled in their country and their poignant disbelief that such falsehoods are being published in what used to be an internationally-respected newspaper, almost as if their government's censorship powers now extended to Britain too.

Although the Front National won only two seats in the election, an analysis of the results published in Le Soir shows it has made very significant progress in challenging establishment politics in France (which Marine Le Pen derisively describes as the UMPS party, combining the letters of the two major parties in France, the UMP and PS).

An election analysis published in Le Soir shows that the FN managed to gain votes from all parties, even significant numbers from former Socialist voters. It performed well in all possible second-round match-ups, gaining more than 40% of the vote in places.

The quoted figure of 11-12% of the vote understates its performance because the two-round nature of the cantonal elections mean that it did not appear in the second-round everywhere. Considering only the cantons where it was present, it gained an average of 35.8% in the second round, an impressive result.

There is more good news for the Front National today in a poll which found that 52% of the French people now consider the FN to be "a party like any other". This is the first time that a majority has favoured this point of view.

Interestingly, although the FN appeals to French voters on issues like islamification and immigration, on other issues it is less convincing. Only 17% favoured withdrawing from the euro compared to 82% against; while only 15% supported withdrawal from the European Union compared to 84% against. It seems French support for the European Union and the Euro is much more deeply rooted than in Britain, even among voters who have rejected establishment politics in other areas.

Inayat Bunglawala, media secretary of the Muslim Council of Britain, essentially the British face of the Muslim Brotherhood, has announced that he has filed complaints about Melanie Phillips to the Press Complaints Council and the police. The complaints relate to the following passage in a blog post she made about the murder of the Fogel family in Israel, a murder which included the beheading of a 2-year-old child:

So to the New York Times, it’s not the Arab massacre of a Jewish family which has jeopardised ‘peace prospects’ -- because the Israelis will quite rightly never trust any agreement with such savages -- but instead Israeli policy on building more homes, on land to which it is legally and morally entitled, which is responsible instead for making peace elusive.

Let's review some of Mr Bunglawala's history. In his student years, he participated in the protests against Salman Rushdie's book, the Satanic Verses. Recalling the episode later, Inayat Bunglawala admitted he was consumed by a spirit of hatred and savagery:

on February 14 1989, when the Iranian Islamic leader, Imam Khomeini delivered his fatwa calling for Salman Rushdie's death, I was truly elated. It was a very welcome reminder that British Muslims did not have to regard themselves just as a small, vulnerable minority; they were part of a truly global and powerful movement. If we were not treated with respect then we were capable of forcing others to respect us.

Ironically for someone accusing Melanie Phillips of racism, Bunglawala has a long and undistinguished history of anti-semitism himself. He has promoted the idea of a vast, Jewish conspiracy in the media:

“The chairman of Carlton Communications is Michael Green of the Tribe of Judah. He has joined an elite club whose members include fellow Jews Michael Grade and Alan Yentob…[They are] close friends… so that’s what they mean by a ‘free media’.”

There is more on Bunglawala's anti-semitism here.

Bunglawala is also on record as having praised the terrorists Osama bin Laden "freedom fighter" and Omar Abdul Rahman, the "courageous" blind sheikh.

Interestingly, in 2009 Bunglawala was arrested by the police for having stabbed a man six times.

The Muslim Public Affairs Council claimed it was all a conspiracy got up by the "the Daily Mail and the Zionist blogosphere" motivated by a desire to "financially and psychologically hurt one of the bulwarks against Israel amongst British Muslim leaders".

According to MPAC, the true story was this:

What actually happened for those who do not know, is an intruder tried to break into the house of Inayat in the middle of the night. Inayat's 3 year old child was sleeping as was his pregnant wife, woken by the noise of a man who at first tried to kick in the front door and then failing that, smashed the downstairs window. Inayat confronted the intruder and in the scuffle the intruder was stabbed.

...

It is time we Muslims learned to get political, to demand an end to this outrage, this witch hunt, this racist, malignant Islamaphobia pushed by Zionists in the media and Parliament that now infects the country’s elite and through them, the good people of Britain. Until Muslims start to stand up, we may as well give up on the word freedom and prepare ourselves for slavery.

So it was all self-defence then? The police indeed decided not to proceed with a prosecution. Bunglawala had close ties to the previous Blair-Brown Labour government, so perhaps that is not surprising. Of key significance, though, as the photograph shows, is the fact that Bunglawala stabbed the man six times in the back. How do you stab someone six times in the back defensively?
The results from the French cantonal elections have been disappointing for the FN. According to current projections, they will have managed to secure only 2 seats, although they had hoped for up to a dozen. The Socialists will control two-thirds of all French councils.

Around Europe, support for the traditional right has begun to disintegrate as the mainstream right parties remain wedded to political correctness and refuse to vigorously confront the horror of Islam growing in our midst, the strangulating effect of the European Union and the follies of multiculturalism and mass third-world immigration generally. Some of those who might be regarded as traditional right-wing voters simply stop voting; others find a "far right" alternative, leading to a fatal split in the right-wing bloc of votes.

In the short term, this can lead to the triumph of the leftists whose insane politics and world view have put us in the predicament we are in. This is what has happened in France. This is what happened, too, in Sweden. The Sweden Democrats enjoyed unprecedented success in the general election there last year, breaking through the 5% barrier and entering parliament for the first time. Of course this was a welcome development, but it has led to the exact opposite of the hoped-for effect. Still recoiling from any association with the "far right", the mainstream right-wing party has chosen to build its coalition with the Greens instead of the Sweden Democrats. As a result, it has now agreed a new immigration policy that is almost insanely irresponsible, granting illegal immigrants the right to education and health care and making family reunification immigration from places like Somalia much easier. Swedish Prime Minister Reinfeldt, leader of the centre-right Moderate party, said:

"We who believe that people should be free to move across borders and seek a better life somewhere else have made this agreement," he said.

"We're closing the door on the only area they [the Sweden Democrats] care about and want to have influence on."

In a statement, Christian Democrat leader and social affairs minister Göran Hägglund said the agreement created a "stable majority in the Riksdag" and "ensured that the Sweden Democrats won't have any influence over immigration policy moving forward".

So the impulse of the Swedish people to bring an end to destructive, utopian immigration policies has instead led to their reinforcement.

In Germany, too, the Greens have benefited from a collapse in the traditional right-wing vote to take control of a regional government for the first time today. It could also be argued that it was the same tendency at work in Britain, through the defection of Conservative voters to UKIP, that ushered in coalition government that has given the Lib Dhims significant influence over many areas of government policy.

Of course, the maintenance and reinforcement of politically correct policies will speed up the process of electoral disenchantment with the establishment that is already underway. Ulimately a political re-alignment will occur. Either "far-right" Counterjihad parties will emerge from the fringes to displace the traditional conservative parties or the traditional conservative parties will either merge with the formerly fringe Counterjihad movements or at least incorporate their ideas. The question is how long will this re-alignment take? While it is underway and before it is complete, it may work to the electoral benefit of leftists who will, of course, use whatever power they have to accelerate the destruction of European civilisation by welcoming the mass influx of Mohammedan hordes.

From the Sunday Times today:

Britain and its allies are drawing up plans to arm the Libyan rebels to speed up the defeat of Muammar Gadaffi.

With coalition airstrikes failing to dislodge government forces in key towns and the RAF now preparing to run sorties until at least June, defence sources say the rebels need shoulder-launched anti-tank weapons to combat the mobile artillery units that Gadaffi’s military is using against civilians.

They're even admitting that the so-called rebels have connections to Al Qaeda.

However, MI6, the secret intelligence service, has warned ministers that the move is risky. The opposition is described as “fractured”, with some fringe rebel groups having ties to Al-Qaeda.

A key Libyan rebel commander, Abdel-Hakim Al Hasidi, disclosed last week that about 25 of his fighters were Al-Qaeda members who had fought British and US troops in Iraq.

Didn't we try this before in Afghanistan? That worked out really well, didn't it? Let's hope they don't give them any anti-aircraft missiles this time.

Douglas Carswell bleats about the need for "concerted government action" on immigration on his blog, a blog where comments need to be pre-approved by Carswell himself, and you can be certain that he doesn't let anything too critical get through.

Immigration is a major issue and my constituents raise it with me more than ever.

Dealing with immigration requires more than speeches – it demands concerted government action.

Douglas Carswell, along with his mate Daniel Hannan, is a founder member of the Conservative Friends of Turkey Association, whose charter commits its members to lobby for Turkey's accession to the European Union. What kind of effect on the immigration numbers does Carswell think Turkish EU accession will have? The Muslim demographic is already doubling every 12 years. Does he want it to start doubling every 5-6 years?

Marine Le Pen's Front National continues to set the pace in French politics, with the establishment parties and media struggling to respond. Notice in the clip that the FN voter they found says he might easily have voted for the far left as a protest vote instead of the "far right". Of course this isn't typical. It's amusing to see the establishment media attempt to explain away the surge in support for the FN as a protest vote, a reaction to economic difficulties, fear of the consequences of the Arab revolts or the product of disillusion with the establishment parties. They are willing to talk up any plausible-sounding interpretation except the elephant in the room: that the French people don't want their country to be turned into an Islamic republic.

The events of the past week make it completely clear, however, that anti-Islam politics in France have been mainstreamed in a way that is inconceivable in Britain, not just through the levels of support the Front National has achieved, but in the statements and actions of establishment parties as they struggle to respond to the FN surge. UMP Interior Minister Clause has been banging the anti-Islam drum all week, referring to the action in Libya as a "crusade", saying the French people feel like strangers in their own country because of immigration, proposing to ban those wearing religious symbols from access to public services and preparing a code on secularism that will supposedly ban the "street prayers" that have disconcerted the French public.

The much-heralded "debate on secularism" within the UMP is due to start in April. Leader of the Socialist party, Martine Aubry, had put her name to a petition calling for the debate to be cancelled. She later withdrew her name, however, after learning that Tariq Ramadan, a jihad strategist resident in Switzerland who is descended from the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, had signed it. I have previously written about Tariq Ramadan on my StopTurkey site. He is skilled in appropriating the standard rhetoric of the European left and harnessing it to the cause of Islam and has been fairly successful in presenting himself as a part of Europe's left-wing intelligensia (sic) rather than an alien outsider. It is interesting, therefore, that the Tariq Ramadan brand has become so toxic in France that the leader of the Socialist party now recoils from him in this way. Most likely this is due to the work of journalist Caroline Fourest, who wrote an expose of Ramadan called "Brother Tariq". Tariq Ramadan is still regarded as a credible figure in Britain, however, where he occasionally writes for the Guardian and is invited to book festivals and the like. The French left still has some reserves of moral maturity vis-a-vis Islam which are, alas, completely absent in the British left, most likely due to the pernicious influence of the Guardian newspaper which has completely capitulated to Islam.

There has been some discussion that the UMP itself may break up. The UMP is actually an umbrella group rather than a single, cohesive party. Some of the more centrist of the micro-parties that comprise it are not happy about the populist, anti-Islam gestures Sarkozy has been making recently and there is talk that Jean-Louis Borloo, leader of the badly misnamed Radical Party, may quit UMP and make an independent run for the presidency. This would certainly shake things up in an interesting way. Without their electoral support, Sarkozy's prospects of reaching the second round of the presidential election would be even dimmer than they are now; on the other hand, without the dead weight of the centrists holding them back, it may be possible to envisage a new political alliance comprising the Front National and what remains of the UMP.

I blogged once before about how contemporary French cinema seems to be pervaded by the theme of French people being displaced by Muslims and immigrants, and how this is invariably portrayed in a positive light. Now it seems we British are being targeted. They've already stolen our country. Now they want our imagination too.

A couple of weeks ago the producer of the television series Midsomer Murders was suspended for declaring that he saw the television show as "the last bastion of Englishness" and could not imagine ethnic minority characters appearing in it. A few days ago an anonymous black actor appeared in the Guardian, demanding that blacks be allowed to appear in period dramas, even though there was no significant number of blacks in the country back then.

Excluding us black actors from all kinds of period dramas is wrong. We have to say enough is enough

Third world aliens are busily effecting the demographic conquest of Europe. Even mainstream demographers are now predicting that people of European origin will be minorities in their own country by the end of this century. But that is not enough for the invaders. Even while the genocide is being effected, they demand that Europeans not even be allowed to remember or imagine their countries as they used to be before the invasion began. Even the parts of their countries that haven't been invaded yet, like rural English villages, must be portrayed in fiction as if they had been.

Today, the doyenne of anti-European hatred, Yasmin Alibhai-Brown, chips in with her contribution to the debate in the "Mystery of the Missing Muslims in Movies." We need more Muslim actors and more films about Muslims, it seems, as long they're not depicted as terrorists.

Where is the soulful, female Muslim singer, the wily, kebab millionaire, the two-timing Pakistani cricketer, the Arab heartthrob? They do all exist, but these roles are not written into scripts.

Where is the young Muslim beauty queen threatened with death for refusing to hide herself, the young Muslim actress beaten by members of her own family for conducting a relationship with a Hindu, the feckless Muslim benefits scrounger living at the expense of the British taxpayer, the cunning Bangladeshi politician working the system to benefit his tribe while rigging elections through postal ballot fraud, the artful Muslim con artist who specialises in staging car crashes to collect insurance payments, the predatory prowling Paki looking for young kuffar girls to gang rape and force into prostitution?

These all do exist, too, and they are, in fact, far more common that any of the hypothetical characters that Yasmin Alibhai-Brown describes but I don't expect to be seeing any of them on our cinema screens any time soon.

On the prospect of more Muslim actors and Muslim soap operas she declares, apparently without irony:

There could be problems with sex scenes, but not violence.

Ah, yes, Muslims seem to have that whole violence thing down pretty well.

She regales us with a list of films featuring Muslims or about Muslims.

One such film, Life Goes On, arrives in March, directed by an Indian academic, Sangeeta Datta, who now lives in London. It is a cinematic essay on the losses and gains of migration and the predicaments of middle-class British Asian life.

What would be really interesting would be to see a film about the "losses and gains of migration" from the perspective of the British people whose country is being colonised by these aliens.

In her list of films, it's notable that the plot lines often feature a Muslim having a relationship with a non-Muslim. The Muslim is always the male, however. Of course it is part of the Muslim system of ethics, as embodied in the Sharia, that while Muslim males are allowed to have relationships with non-Muslims, female Muslims are not. Males are perceived as the conquerors while women are expected to be meek and submissive. So a female non-Muslim in a relationship with a Muslim has effectively been conquered for Islam, and the children will be brought up as Muslims; while a female Muslim in a relationship with a non-Muslim has effectively been lost to the Ummah.

What Yasmin Alibhai-Brown doesn't get, however, is that civilised people just don't care about religion. A few decades ago in Britain no one cared about religion outside of Northern Ireland and some parts of Scotland. That's a good thing. We had got over it, after hundreds of years of senseless strife and division. Muslims have brought this pernicious sectarianism back into our national life. And we don't like it.

Pastor Terry Jones burns the Koran after finding it guilty of "inciting murder, rape and terrorist activities".

It's worth visiting the YouTube page here to see the murderous, hate-filled comments from Muslims.
Census forms are going out around Britain. Here's a suggestion: put your religion down as "anti-Islam"! If this idea gained enough currency, we might find out that there were more Counterjihadists in the country than Muslims.
Britain badly needs a serious Counterjihad blog. In Germany, the success of the Politically Incorrect blog has shown that a well put-together blog can eventually emerge as a serious shaper of events. Although I can't verify it, it is claimed that PI is now the largest political blog in Europe. It has been mentioned (of course usually critically) in the mainstream press several times now; it is involved in promoting real-world counterjihad events such as the visit of Geert Wilders to Germany.

There is nothing comparable to this in Britain. The closest thing to a serious Counterjihad blog is probably Harry's Place, but Harry's Place is fatally constrained by the politically correct rules it continues to play by. For example, even though its motto is "Liberty, if it means anything, is the right to tell people what they don't want to hear", I was once banned from there for comparing Islam to Nazism. Harry's Place plays the same game as the mainstream press, in playing moral one-upmanship, drawing lines in the sand and stigmatising as evil anyone who refuses to play by their prim rules. One of their core tenets, for example, is that the problems are only with certain Islamically-themed organisations, not Islam itself. So, for example, they may object to Al Qaeda, the Muslim Council of Britain or the Hizb-ut-Tahrir, but draw no conclusions from that about the broader nature of Islam itself. For them, that territory is taboo, and not just in their original posts but in their comments. This is intellectual and moral cowardice.

What Britain desperately needs is candid discussion about Islam. Clearly that cannot be found within the mainstream press. There are a few journalists and activists like Ed West, Andrew Gilligan and Douglas Murray who make interesting and worthwhile contributions to public understanding of the threat that Islam presents to our way of life. However, they consistently pull their punches because to do otherwise would be to invite ostracism and immolation under the multicult rules of heresy.

For example, most mainstream commentators who dare to be somewhat critical of Islam tend to obsess on the issue of terrorism or the support for it amongst Muslims. Anyone who is fully clued up knows that the threat of Muslim terrorism is largely a distraction. As far as the number of people killed is concerned, it is roughly comparable to dangerous dogs or lightning strikes. Terrorism is useful in getting other people to pay attention to the Muslim grievance narrative but these commentators are only deepening that aspect of the problem by paying obsessive attention to it. With the exception of Ed West, almost no mainstream commentator is willing to broach the subject of Muslim demographics. The astonishing pace of Muslim demographic expansion is, in fact, the core element of the problem of the problem we face.

There are excellent Counterjihad blogs in America, like Gates of Vienna or Jihadwatch, which are clearly used by Britons and Europeans as source of information and platforms for discussion. But their perspective is necessarily foreign and their impact on the public discourse in Britain therefore limited.

There are quite a few British blogs overtly concerned with racial politics. Their perspective is legitimate. I'm not going to call them evil for being concerned about preserving their genetic identity. But it's my belief that mixing the Counterjihad issue with the race issue will necessarily diminish its popularity. Look around Europe. The Counterjihad parties that are flourishing tend to be resolutely non-racist and pro rather than anti-semitic. The EDL has a few blogs but they tend to be of low quality and their credibility is diminished through affiliation with an overt campaigning organisation. Although I sympathise with them, I'm not sure what the purpose of the EDL really is. I just don't see how going around holding demonstrations is going to change anything. There is clearly a thug element in the EDL which may allow the establishment to toxify its brand just as they have done with the BNP. I realise, of course, that the establishment goes out of its way to portray them in the worst possible light, that there are probably police infiltrators deliberately causing problems within the EDL ranks and that some of the leaders are thoughtful, intelligent and well-informed. But I still think a Counterjihad blog overtly affiliated with them will lose some of its potential impact and be dragged into pointless defensive skirmishing that distracts from the real issues at hand. And the EDL itself still plays by the politically correct Queensberry rules in its insistence that the problem is not Islam but Islamic extremism.

So Britain needs a new Counterjihad blog. Unless it becomes a full-time occupation, it is doubtful that any single person can maintain a blog with enough breadth and depth to become a major influence on public discourse in the country. There are many laudable individual contributions. There are regular commenters on the Telegraph who write well and have clearly acquired a deep knowledge of Islam and the threat it presents to us. In the blogosphere, there are some good individual efforts. But individual efforts will generally fail because individuals become distracted, lose interest, get caught up in real-life responsibilities, etc. To achieve the success of PI in Germany, a collective undertaking is required. The individual bloggers and commenters need to come together to form a new website or work up an existing one.

So let this appeal go out: Counterjihad bloggers, commenters and thinkers of Britain, Unite!

The Foreign Secretary, William Hague - the man who lost his mojo without ever having had it in the first place - gave a speech in London yesterday at the Times summit on Africa. There are so many daft falsehoods in the speech that I thought I should provide some comments on it here.

British Forces have conducted four days of operations to enforce a no-fly zone over Libya to protect civilians against a government that has responded to legitimate demands for change with crushing military force and is now under investigation by the International Criminal Court.

Actually we are fighting on behalf of a group of jihadists many of whom are literally affiliated with Al Qaeda, as explained here.

The Prime Minister and I are working to transform the European Union’s neighbourhood policy so that it can act as a magnet for positive change, providing clearer incentives for the creation of free, democratic and just societies that respect human rights. The EU already has vast means at its disposal to promote such reform, and we believe that it should also hold out the prospect of deeper economic integration with Europe so that the people of the region can see a clear path to a more prosperous future.

A magnet? Oh dear, that sounds ominous, as does "the prospect of deeper economic integration with Europe". Does this mean he wants to build more job centres in Africa?

But these momentous events do not stop at the borders of the Arab world. One of the lessons emerging from the crises in the Middle East is that the demand for freedom will spread and that undemocratic governments elsewhere should take heed.

...

Just as Gaddafi is an obstacle to the peaceful development of Libya, there are others who stand in the way of a brighter future for their countries. In Ivory Coast the former President, Laurent Gbagbo, has refused to concede that he lost last year’s presidential election and is sanctioning attacks on defenceless civilians in a desperate attempt to cling illegitimately to power.

Gbagbo is trying to resist the jihadist takeover of his country. Muslims have been immigrating there en masse from neighbouring, predominantly Muslim countries. Many have registered to vote. It was undoubtedly their presence that accounted for the narrow victory the Muslim candidate won last year. The Ivory Coast is in exactly the same position that Kosovo was in and that many of the countries in western Europe will be in soon: facing a demographic jihad in which the Muslims, through higher birth-rates and immigration, attempt to take over the country. Instead of whining about "democracy" like some naive student, Hague should be resisting the global jihad by all means within his power. We have imposed economic sanctions on Ivory Coast when we should be offering it military assistance to defeat the jihadis. As we confront the jihad worldwide, democracy should be a secondary consideration, as it was in the Cold War.

As this article in the Times makes clear (h/t Johnny Rottenborough), the Ivory Coast is far from the only country that is facing a demographic jihad:

Muslims mass-producing children to take over Africa, says Archbishop

One of the most powerful figures in the Anglican Church believes that Africa is under attack from Islam and that Muslims are “mass-producing” children to take over communities on the continent.

Archbishop Nicholas Okoh, 56, was elected Primate of Nigeria last week and his elevation could exacerbate tensions at a time when Anglicans are working to build bridges with Muslims.

...

Nigeria is split almost half and half between Christianity and Islam. There are about 17 million practising Anglicans in the country, but they face persecution in the north, while the two faiths vie with local religions for supremacy in the rest of the country.

Archbishop Okoh made his controversial comments about Islam in a sermon in Beckenham, Kent, in July. He said that there was a determined Islamic attack in African countries such as Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda.

“They spend a lot of money, even in places where they don’t have congregations, they build mosques, they build hospitals, they build anything.

“They come to Africans and say, ‘Christianity is asking you to marry only one wife. We will give you four!’ ” Archbishop Okoh described this as “evangelism by mass-production”.

He said: “That is the type of evangelism they are doing: mass-production, so if you have four wives, four children, sixteen children, very soon you will be a village.”

Africa was “surrounded by Islamic domination,” he said, and he urged Christians to speak out now or lose the authority to speak. “I am telling you, Islam is spending in Uganda and in other places, it is money from the Arab World,” he claimed, accusing Christians of abdicating their responsibilities. “Who is the leader in the Christian world? There is no leader.”

Continuing with William Hague's speech:

And in Sudan we will see Africa’s newest nation come into being this year following a remarkably peaceful referendum on secession, accepted by North Sudan, which Britain worked very hard to achieve, making it an early priority of our foreign policy to focus the UN Security Council on the potential crisis there and demonstrating that targeted engagement from the international community can achieve real results.

Actually Muslim North Sudan hasn't accepted it at all. It is arming militias to attack the non-Muslims in the south, aimed at destabilising the government there and calling the separation process into doubt.

It seems our Foreign Secretary has only the vaguest of clues about what is really going on in Africa, which is now the front line of the violent global jihad. (In Europe the jihad is proceeding largely through demographics). In a way this is not surprising. Reading the news reports on the various conflicts there, words like Islam, Muslim and jihad are never mentioned. Political correctness systematically eliminates the information people would need to understand what is happening there. The stories are simply reported in terms of various contending factions without any explanation about what motivates them. Imagine if the events of the second half of the 20th century were reported without using the words Communist, Communism or any the concepts that lay behind those words; that conflicts and tensions were simply described without any reference to their ideological inspiration. How could anyone have understood what was going on? They couldn't. That is exactly what is happening in Africa now. Perhaps the reason the Foreign Secretary doesn't understand anything is that he reads too many newspapers.

Great article in the Rolling Stone leaves no doubt that in Libya we are supporting the global jihad.

One of the features of dhimmitude is that non-Muslims have to pay a tax from which Muslims are exempt. This condition has now been recreated in Britain. Muslims, it seems, are exempt from paying stamp duty which the rest of us have to pay when we buy a house. Because Muslims claim the sharia does not allow them to pay interest, they have been granted permission to purchase houses in a special way using sharia-compliant mortgages. These involve re-selling the house straightaway then re-leasing it. Because stamp duty does not have to be paid if a house is immediately resold, Muslims are effectively exempt from paying this tax, which thus translates into a kind of jizya payment for the dhimmis.

Many non-Muslims are now claiming to be Muslims so that they can take advantage of this scam. This, too, replicates the conditions of dhimmitude. These conditions were designed to be so disadvantageous to the non-Muslim population that they would produce a constant flow of conversions to Islam by dhimmis who wished to escape the restrictions of dhimmitude, such as having to pay the jizya. This indeed is what happened.

Unsurprisingly, the law which permits this outrageous scam was introduced by the Labour party.
Yesterday 77% of Egyptians voted to approve a new constitution. The mainstream media made this sound like happy-clappy progress down the road to democracy. What they didn't tell you is that the Egyptians were voting for Sharia. The new constitution preserves article 2 of the old constitution, which stipulates that Sharia forms the basis of Egyptian law. The Christians in Egypt, Mohammed Al Baradei and the more enlightened of the anti-Mubarak protesters all opposed this new constitution because they felt it did not go far enough. The Muslim Brotherhood supported it strongly. The Muslim Brotherhood prevailed.

That is the clear message from yesterday's cantonal elections in France. Sarkozy's UMP slumped to 17% of the vote while the Front National made a historic leap forward to achieve 15.26%. Its previous best result in cantonal elections was 12.2% in 2004. It began pushing into new areas of France where its support has traditionally not been strong.

The FN will now participate in around 400 second-round elections, facing the Socialist party in the majority of cases. This creates a dilemma for the UMP. There is an internal dispute within the party about whether it should join with the Socialists in a "Republican front", each telling their supporters to vote for the other mainstream party rather than the FN in cases where the FN is involved in a run-off against either the Socialists or the UMP. Some of Sarkozy's ministers, including the Prime Minister, Francois Fillon, have already called for this; others, including, Sarkozy himself, have opposed it.

UPDATE: This interview in Le Monde provides some interesting information. Because the FN were not present in every constituency, their share of the vote nationally understates their performance. In the cantons where they did have a presence, their share of the vote was 19.2%, even higher than the UMP.
The establishment has recently been talking up the threat of lone-nut terrorists like Roshonara Choudhry, supposedly radicalised largely through watching Anwar al-Awlaki videos on the internet without having any direct contact with other jihadists.

In response, the Home Office has now introduced a mechanism through which members of the public can report "material on the internet which could be used to incite terrorism". As their website says:

You can challenge and report extremist or terrorist content you find online which you feel is offensive, or illegal.

There is a link on their website which allows people to report "dangerous" material. Here is their definition of illegal "terrorist or extremist content":

speeches or essays calling for racial or religious violence

videos of violence with messages of praise for the attackers

chat forums with postings calling for people to commit acts of terrorism

messages intended to stir up hatred against any religious or ethnic group

instructions on how to make weapons, poisons or bombs

Note this one:

messages intended to stir up hatred against any religious or ethnic group

Of course this could be used against Muslims trying to stir up hatred against the kuffar; but it could also be used for the opposite: civilised westerners trying to warn their naive compatriots about the mortal menace Islam presents to our civilisation.

Do you have faith that the police will confine themselves to shutting down jihadist websites or those which openly incite violence? I certainly don't. The pattern of initiatives like this is that they are initially introduced to target jihadists. The Muslims then agitate and complain they are being unfairly singled out. Politically correct politicians then yield to the Muslim pressure and extend the scheme to cover "all extremism". This is exactly what happened with the Prevent scheme, and it would not surprise me to see "islamophobic" websites ultimately being affected by it.

Meanwhile, the Daily Record reports today on plans to introduce what are potentially even more sinister internet censorship proposals in Scotland.

The Turks are pushing for visa-free travel into Europe and our wise leaders may well give it to them soon.

In an interview with the Muslim News Labour leader Ed Miliband apologised for the Iraq war and reached out to Muslims:

Both Tony Blair and Gordon Brown wanted to build good relationship with the Muslim community. It is clearly the case that the war in Iraq strained the relationships we had with the members of the Muslim community. I said what I said about the war in Iraq. [‘I do believe we were wrong. Wrong to take Britain to war’]. I want to make a new start with the Muslim community. The Muslim community provides a huge vibrancy and richness to British life. It is very important that we acknowledge that and it is something that I am seeking to do that as a Leader of the Labour Party. I want to do and will do, in terms of my outreach conversations with the Muslim community. I had very interesting experiences when I was Minister for Voluntary Sector in talking to various groups that were involved in the Muslim community.

He also rebuked David Cameron for his speech in Munich and warned him to "tread carefully" when talking about Muslims.

He should have been clearer in his speech about condemning some of the forms of extremism that we see, say, from the English Defence League, whom I know he has no time for. You have to be so careful in your language so that it doesn’t look like you are typecasting members of one community in a particular way and that was why people felt unhappy about his speech.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

A survey of public opinion covering "diversity" issues was recently conducted by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in eight European countries. The researchers themselves were clearly brainwashed multicultists and were alarmed by the findings but normal people will be heartened by them.

In the words of the Executive Summary:

Group-focused enmity is widely disseminated in Europe. It not a phenomenon of
the political margins but an issue at the centre of society. Europeans are conspicuously
united in their rejection of immigrants and Muslims. About half of all European
respondents said that there were too many immigrants in their country and that jobs should
be given to non-immigrants first in times of crisis. About half condemned Islam as a religion of intolerance.

Despite the constant indoctrination they are subject to, a majority of Europeans have correctly divined that "Islam is a religion of tolerance." Note the proportion who thought that "the majority of Muslims find terrorism justifiable" was quite low, too low in fact, I would say. This, however, refutes the oft-heard claim of the Utopians that people have negative attitudes towards Islam because of terrorism.

It's also worth noting that anti-Islam sentiments did not correlate with antipathy to Jews or homosexuals, another favourite lie of the multicult crowd including the Jews for Hitler mob who constantly step up to defend Muslim intolerance and criticise the Counterjihad.

The political rhetoric that accompanies this study is truly something to behold. It is a perfect example of the zombified intellectual dishonesty that the Utopian ideologues engage in. The study as a whole was billed as an "analysis of anti-democratic mentalities".

A diverse, tolerant and multicultural Europe committed to human rights is not only essential for the protection of minorities. These features represent the very foundation of social cohesion and robust democracy. Intolerance, prejudice and discrimination are dangers to the cohesion of plural societies and thus to democracy itself.

Note that the health of a democracy is judged by its willingness to accommodate the demands of minorities.

They indicate the extent to which the majority is willing to accept and include social, ethnic, cultural and religious minorities and supposed “others” as equal members of society – or exclude them. Intolerance, prejudice, anti-democratic attitudes and the willingness to discriminate against others are sensitive indicators of social cohesion.

What a bizarre inversion of the true meaning of democracy! Rather than a system of government that acts to fulfil the demands of the majority of the people, democracy
instead exists to fulfil the demands of minorities and can be judged as healthy only to the extent that the majority acts in a self-abnegating way and meekly submits to the demands of obstreperous minorities!

At the end of the report the authors urge "committed action" to "strengthen democracy".

It is crucial to promote attitudes and establish structures that support equality, which means accepting cultural difference and embracing multiculturalism, rejecting authoritarian attitude and behaviour patterns and encouraging horizontal (as opposed to vertical) social structures.

"Strengthen democracy" apparently doesn't mean giving the people what they want. It means running propaganda campaigns to indoctrinate them into correct multicult thinking. The sentiments of ordinary people are described as "authoritarian" but not the views of the people writing this report who urge mass brainwashing programmes to re-educate the plebs.

Another part of the study noted that:

In all the countries a majority of respondents feel they are ignored by politicians. Political attitudes and the feeling of political powerlessness are crucial for the extent of prejudice.

Now where did they get the crazy idea that they were being ignored?

It really is breathtaking that these multicultists can acknowledge that the majority of people reject the tenets of their ideology and yet still manage to convince themselves that they are "strengthening democracy" by imposing their bizarre alien views on people who reject them.

It looks as though Western governments are preparing to intervene militarily in Libya's civil war. Gaddafi has bizarrely announced a cease-fire but most likely this is just a distracting manoeuvre designed to throw the west off balance. All the indications are that the fighting will continue as before.

While Gaddafi is obviously an evil dictator, it's not clear that western interests will be served by overthrowing him.

There are three things the West wants from any Libyan regime:

1) Keep the African hordes out of Europe
2) Keep the jihadis repressed
3) Keep the oil flowing

Gaddafi has done all of these things to an acceptable degree. It's not clear that any regime which replaced him would do them so well. In particular, the following research, quoted by David Frum in the Daily Telegraph, offers grounds for serious reflection:

For the past few days, Washington policy circles have been worrying over a piece of research circulated last week: "On a per capita basis … twice as many foreign fighters came to Iraq from Libya – and specifically eastern Libya – than from any other country in the Arabic-speaking world. Libyans were apparently more fired up to travel to Iraq to kill Americans than anyone else in the Middle East. And 84.1 per cent [74] of the 88 Libyan fighters … who listed their hometowns came from either Benghazi or Darnah in Libya's east."

It is the strength of the jihadi element there that may account for the hostile reception given to the British SAS/MI6 contingent a week or so ago. The Libyan rebels have been seen shouting "Allahu Akbar" (Allah is Greater). None of this gives grounds for optimism.

The one good thing about Islam is that Muslims seem to enjoy killing each other almost as much as they do infidels. In Libya, we should leave them to it.

One and a half thousand of them on a single boat now, from Libya. Is this Gaddafi's revenge?

Things are really hotting up in France as the cantonal elections approach.

There are too many stories to cover in depth so I'll just give a brief round-up:

Anti-racist organisations are preparing to file a legal complaint against Josaine Plataret, the UMP candidate who posted "racist" material, including jokes, on her web page.

The photographs of her Facebook page show that she was also concerned about halal slaughter and the Islamic takeover of Lille. All in all, I'd say she was too good for the UMP. She should consider joining Marine Le Pen's Front National instead.

I posted one of her jokes yesterday. Here's another:

What's the difference between an Arab who got knocked down by a car and a dog that got knocked down by a car?

There will be brake marks in front of the dog.

The Muslim Council of France has announced that it will refuse to participate in the Debate on Secularism that has been announced by the UMP, claiming it stigmatises Muslims.

The UMP are partially backing down under Muslim pressure. Previously they had been talking about banning the preaching of sermons in Arabic; now they're talking about only banning the use of Arabic in the the pre-sermon talk. Ludicrous!

Multiple opinion polls have Marine Le Pen duking it out with prospective Socialist candidate Dominique Strauss-Kahn for the presidency, with Sarkozy being knocked out in the preliminary round. Marine Le Pen has an overall public satisfaction level of 33%, a level never before achieved by a "far-right" politician, while Sarkozy languishes on a satisfaction level of 28%.

In more of the Jews for Hitler mould, Richard Prasquier, president of the Representative Council of French Jewish Institutions and the League against Racism and Anti-semitism, has denounced Marine Le Pen strongly in Le Monde. It's the usual drivel:

Thus the Muslim has taken the place formerly occupied by the Jew, the Arab or the immigrant in the Frontist dialectic. Make no mistake: those who speak of the islamisation of France are guided by the same xenophobic obsession as those who denounced the judaisation of our country in the 1930s. For the far right, the foreigner, whatever his face, remains responsible for all the ills of our society.

France's National Assembly has adopted a new law on immigration which makes France a little less welcoming to the immigrants. Some provisions, such as one to deprive malefactors of immigrant origin of their French nationality, were watered down as the new law was debated. Others are certainly promising, however. For example, one provision requires a child born in France to two immigrant parents to apply for French nationality rather than receive it automatically, as has been the case previously.

A French UMP candidate has been attacked for posting "racist" jokes on her web page.
One of the jokes quoted on the candidate's Facebook page (now removed apparently but photographed by the anti-racist witchunting organisations that are subsidised by the French government to prey on the French people) is very funny. So I'll give a rough translation of it here:

One day, by chance, an Arab comes across an angel. The angel invites him to make four wishes and promises to grant them immediately.

The Arab thinks for a while then says, "I wish I had blue eyes". Shazam! He has blue eyes!

The angel asks for his second wish. The Arab thinks for a moment then says, "I wish I had blonde hair". Shazam! The Arab has blonde hair.

The angel invites him to make his third wish. The Arab replies, "I wish I was a Swede and had a Swedish passport!" Shazam! He is now a Swede with a Swedish passport!

The angel asks for his fourth and last wish. The Arab thinks carefully then replies, "I wish I didn't have to work, and I could get loads of money without doing a stroke!"

Shazam! Transformed back into an Arab again, with brown eyes, dark skin and curly hair. But in his pockets he finds an unemployment benefits book, a social security card, a free bus pass, a family credit pack and a housing benefit form!

The candidate has apologised but the anti-racist vultures are circling and threatening to file a criminal complaint against her anyway. On her Facebook page, she had actually joked that she might end up like Eric Zemmour, who got the same treatment after pointing out, correctly that "the majority of drug dealers are blacks and Arabs". The candidate has now been suspended by her party, the UMP.

Marine Le Pen visited Lampedusa on Monday. She was greeted by a rabble of protesters holding up signs in French saying "Solidarity with the undocumented", "Liberty, equality, fraternity for the undocumented too", "Racists out", "Lampedusa isn't racist", "The world is coloured, resign yourself to it".

As the Independent reported:

Ms Le Pen spoke to two immigrants during a tour of the island's holding centre. "I have a lot of compassion for you but Europe can't welcome you," she said. "We don't have the financial means."

Meanwhile, Claude Guéant, the UMP's immigration minister criticised the visit and claimed that the National Front would not act as a compass for the UMP. He then immediately contradicted himself, however, by saying that the French wanted France to remain France, proving that Marine Le Pen is now setting the pace in French politics.
Does Cardinal Keith O'Brien read this blog? Probably not, but some of the remarks he made today at the launch event for a report highlighting the persecution of Christians around the world could have come straight from this blog post which I made last week.

Cardinal Keith O’Brien has warned the UK Government against pursuing an ‘anti-Christian’ foreign policy ahead of the release in Scotland this morning of a report that 75 per cent of religious persecution in the world is against Christians

The cardinal’s comments come after the Coalition government recently announced plans to double overseas aid to Pakistan to more than £445 million, without requiring any commitment to religious freedom for Christians in that country.

...

Citing a number of attacks on Christians, Cardinal O’Brien said he believes that conditions should be attached to any aid payments, requiring a definite commitment to protection for Christians and other religious minorities—including Shia Muslims.

Speaking at the Glasgow launch of the Catholic charity Aid to the Church in Need’s (ACN) report on Christian persecution, the cardinal is expected to further urge Foreign Secretary William Hague to ‘obtain guarantees from foreign governments before they are given aid.’

“To increase aid to the Pakistan government when religious freedom is not upheld and those who speak up for religious freedom are gunned down is tantamount to an anti-Christian foreign policy,” the cardinal added.

“Pressure should now be put on the Government of Pakistan—and the governments of the Arab world as well—to ensure that religious freedom is upheld, the provision of aid must require a commitment to human rights.”

What's really remarkable is that remarks like this are so rare. You would think senior Christian churchmen would be saying things like this all the time. But the spirit of dhimmitude has seeped deeply into their souls. The Archtraitor of Canterbury is too busy appeasing Muslims and calling for Sharia to bother defending his fellow Christians.

Yet again it seems the Muslim terrorist was an asylum seeker. A Home Office study revealed that around one quarter of those arrested on terrorism offences were asylum seekers. The treaty that governs the granting of asylum contains a clear national security exception allowing any signatory state to suspend the provisions of the treaty if it believes its national security would be threatened by continuing to implement them. Yet our governments refuse to invoke this national security exception, pleading that they have international obligations which must be fulfilled.

The French establishment is desperately trying to fend off the challenge of Marine Le Pen's Front National (FN) which, thanks to its growth in popularity, now threatens to enter the French political mainstream.

Sarkozy is warning that UMP politicians who call for alliances or pacts with the FN will be expelled from the party. At the same time, he is trying to steal some of the FN's thunder by broaching the Islam question himself. But this is provoking discontent in his own party by those opposed to such "populist" gestures. This week Sarkozy's diversity adviser, a Muslim, was sacked after expressing opposition to the plans to hold a national debate on secularism (really on Islam). The Muslim said Sarkozy had wanted the debate to defend Muslims but that it had been hijacked by "neo-Nazis" within the UMP. Muslims are reported to have been tearing up their UMP membership cards and are calling for a demonstration in front of the UMP headquarters on 5 April, the day on which the debate on secularism is scheduled to begin.

Trade unions are also fighting to fend off the growing popularity of the FN among their membership. Members and officers of the trade unions are being expelled for standing as FN candidates.
The Sunday Mail today has some more details of the man arrested in Glasgow last week in connection with the suicide bombing in Stockholm last year.

POLICE have put a 24-hour guard outside the home of the Stockholm bombing suspect to stop it being targeted by vigilantes.

Officers have been on duty at his flat since the 30-year-old was arrested on Tuesday morning.

The property was sealed off when the nursing student was taken into custody to be questioned.

Strathclyde Police have maintained a presence at the 19th floor of the tower block in Glasgow's Whiteinch to prevent vandalism.

The suspect, AK al-Khalede, was arrested in connection with the botched suicide bombing last year.

He is being held in the Scottish Terrorist Detention Centre in Govan.
Iraqi-born Taimour Abdulwahab al-Abdaly - who studied at the University of On duty: Cops at flat Bedfordshire - blew himself up and injured two people in Stockholm's shopping district on December 11.

Terror cops swooped on al-Khalede after a month-long investigation involving British and Swedish security services.

He is thought to have travelled to Luton several times to visit al-Abdaly, 28.
Residents at the flats say al-Khalede introduced himself as "Mo" when he moved to the area in December.

One man, who didn't want to be named, said: "People around here are furious. A few guys have talked about getting hold of Mo if he returns."

A Strathclyde Police spokeswoman said: "Until officers are satisfied no further evidence can be found in a property, it will be guarded."

A sheriff has granted police an extension to the time al-Khalede can be held.

Remember those "moving" scenes during the Egyptian revolution when the Christians joined hands and stood guard around the Muslims while they were praying? The establishment media couldn't get enough of them because it fitted perfectly into their narrative of multi-faith/multi-cult harmony. Those of us who knew the history and doctrines of Islam a little better shook our heads at their naivete.

Well, it didn't take long for us to be vindicated. The Christian Copts are now being attacked by the Muslims. This latest incident was provoked by a Christian man forming a relationship with a Muslim woman, a contravention of the sharia rules which enshrine the fierce bigotry at the heart of Islam. The woman's father refused to murder her, as the Islamic conception of honour demands, so he was murdered by his cousin for his weakness. A 4000-strong Muslim mob then went on the rampage, killing Christians and burning a church to the ground.
Tuesday, 8 March 2011

A non-British man, undoubtedly a Muslim, has just been arrested in Glasgow. He is believed to have had some connection to the suicide bombing that took place in Stockholm last year.

Listen to the idiot Chief Superintendent in this interview. It is striking evidence of just how much politically correct indoctrination the police have been subject to throughout
Britain in recent years.

"The most important thing here is the community reassurance, and getting information out to our communities, that this is not focused on any one community. This is an individual. Terrorism is a criminal act and that is how we will be dealing with this."

When he talks of "communities" and "community", he obviously means Muslims. So here is a law enforcement officer who has (most likely) caught a Muslim terrorist scheming to blow up non-Muslims, and he thinks that "the most important thing" [Note not an important thing or one of the important things but the MOST important thing] is to reassure Muslims in case their feelings are hurt because they have been caught plotting to murder infidels again.

UPDATE:

The Herald this morning quotes the same policeman making separate but similar remarks:

“We are working together with our community advisers, our community leaders to make sure that Scotland is a safe place.

“If there any repercussions, if there are any raised tensions, if there’s any focus on one community we will be taking a robust stance on that.”

If there's any focus on one community, we will be taking a robust stance on that? What does he mean? If anyone comes out and says maybe Scotland would be better off without any Muslims in it, they will be prosecuted? This man is a disgrace.

We see this pattern every time the Muslims commit a new atrocity or a caught preparing for one: the establishment immediately switches the discourse to one of sympathy for the Muslims rather than their victims, conjuring up the chimerical possibility of revenge attacks on the Muslims which, of course, actually never materialises.

The French elite didn't like the last poll which showed Marine Le Pen ahead of the leaders of the mainstream right-wing and left-wing parties in France in voting intentions for the presidential election next year. So they ran the poll again, adding a few new hypothetical candidates who they thought might bring her down a bit, including Dominique Strauss-Kahn (DSK), the head of the IMF, who is judged very likely to be the Socialist Party candidate next year and who has previously performed well in polls.

Alas, for the French establishment, Marine Le Pen came out on top of the new poll too. In fact, this second result was even more interesting than the first because it showed that in a three-way-contest between Le Pen, Sarkozy and Strauss-Kahn, Sarkozy would be knocked out in the preliminary round, leaving Marine Le Pen to face off against DSK for the presidency. That is a contest she might actually win, as the UMP voters could be tempted to vote for her rather than the Socialist. Recall what happened the last (and only) time a Le Pen made it to the presidential run-off in 2002. There, the contest was between Jean-Marie Le Pen and Jacques Chirac, leader of the mainstream right-wing party in France. The traditional left-wing voters of course voted for Chirac to stop Le Pen. Almost certainly, that pattern would repeat itself if the socialist candidate was knocked out in the preliminary round, leaving Marine Le Pen to compete against Sarkozy. If, however, it is Sarkozy who gets knocked out in the first round, Marine Le Pen would up in a run-off with the Socialist candidate. That is a contest she might very well win.
Muslim and Jewish leaders have come together to denounce the rise of the "far-right" in Europe.

Citing studies which show that anti-Semitism and Islamophobia are both growing rapidly in countries across Europe, the communal leaders affirmed that “Jews and Muslims are equal stakeholders in Europe, not expendable guests, and must therefore enjoy the same rights as everybody else.

Anti-semitism in Europe is, of course, growing because of the increase in the Muslim population; and islamophobia is the reaction of ordinary, decent Europeans to the various manifestations of the Islamic evil, among which is anti-semitism.

But these naive fools conjure up an image of a Hitlerian "far right" mobilising against the Jews and the Muslims together. There is virtually no trace of anti-semitism in the so-called far right parties and organisations which are now flourishing: Geert Wilders' PVV, the Front National in France (where, in a first, Marine Le Pen has even been invited onto a Jewish Radio station), the Sweden Democrats, the EDL.

These Jews at the World Jewish Congress are the equivalent of the naive Jews who thought Hitler wasn't that bad and voted for him. Jews now face routine harassment all across Europe thanks to the pervasive Muslim presence. Many, tragically, are fleeing the continent altogether. The so-called "far right" is the only thing that can save them, but they have set their face against it.

A few days ago I posted about Usama Hasan, the imam who was threatened and forced to resign his position after delivering a lecture claiming that Darwin's theory of evolution was compatible with Islamic doctrine. The Quilliam Foundation has posted a briefing on the affair which contains some interesting details on Hasan's background. Apparently, he used to be a committed jihadist himself and translated some extremist Wahhabi texts into English, but has now recanted these views and expressed support for British soldiers serving abroad.

The video above shows "Saleem Begg (aka ‘Abu Zubair’) a prominent Wahhabi preacher partly based at Lewisham mosque in South London" talking about Hasan as an apostate and making the case that, according to the sharia, he deserves to be executed, although he claims this "is for informational purposes only".

"The Left is losing across Europe." These are the words of
David Miliband, writing in the Times today, a former foreign secretary who should have been the leader of the Labour party but was pipped at the post by his brother thanks to the trade union vote.

We are living through a period of right-of-centre political dominance in Europe not seen in the whole age of democratic suffrage. In Britain, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Italy and Sweden, six countries with good claims to represent the historic heartland of social democracy, there are now centre-right governments. This has not happened since the First World War.

He mentions Geert Wilders, so clearly has some clue about where the problem lies:

Parties of the Left are losing voters to the Far Right and the Far Left — just look at the anti-Islamic Party for Freedom in the Netherlands, which came third in the 2010 general election with 15 per cent of the vote. When it comes to the interwoven issues of self-interest and identity, wages and immigration, working-class voters see the Centre Left as at best suspect and at worst guilty.

But what's his solution? Stop pandering to Muslims? Stop Muslim immigration? Repatriate the Muslims who are here? Er, no. The solution is to "build a moral economy. When left-of-centre parties fight elections as private sector reformers, in the name of efficiency and not just fairness, they can win." And, eh, community organising:

I don’t believe policy answers can be found in the traditional way, with the government as a giant problem-solver. That is why I support the Movement for Change, a new leadership academy for community organisers that aims to rebuild the labour movement.

Even when they know what the problem is, the European left cannot respond to it. They cannot give the people what they want: an end to islamification. They are like communists back in the old Soviet bloc watching their economy fall apart but unable to do anything about it because of their own ideological straitjacket.

The Muslim, a member of the group Muslims Against Crusades, burned poppies on Remembrance Day during two minutes of silence for the war dead and shouted "British Soldiers Burn in Hell". He collects about £800 per month in benefits from the British taxpayer.
