The video shows a demonstration that took place on Friday (4 November) in Seligenstadt, a small German town with a population of just over 20,000. About 40 angry Muslims protested against the publication of a book called "Die Verbrechen des Propheten Mohammed" [The Crimes of the Prophet Mohammed] by Zahid Khan. The book is being printed in the neighbouring district of Rodgau.

In the video the Muslims shout "Stop distributing the book!" and "There is no god but Allah!". They have filed a legal complaint demanding the book be suppressed. The local court is currently determining whether it has jurisdiction to hear the complaint.

I hadn't heard of this book before, so thanks for giving it publicity, Muslims! I'll need to try and get hold of a copy.

Seligenstadt, whose name ironically means "Blessed City", is one of the oldest towns in Germany, with many fine, timber-framed houses and other types of beautiful, historic architecture. Even there the Mohammedan presence makes itself felt.

For us, a historical treasure.

For them, a tinderbox.

Just like the old bridge in Lucerne.....
