Islam versus Europe

Fritz Grillitsch, head of the Österreichischer Bauernbund (Austrian Farmers League), one of the sub-parties that makes up the right-wing Establishment party in Austria - the OVP - announced his resignation yesterday. He had come under fierce criticism within the party for having invited German author Thilo Sarrazin (author of "Germany is Unmaking Itself") to Graz to give a speech in September. A suggestion he made recently about progressively withdrawing benefits from immigrants who had failed to integrate also provoked strong dissent within his party.

This is another Enoch Powell-like moment where a politician who dares to dissent from the immigrant consensus finds his career obliterated.
