A Member of the Scottish Parliament, Humza Yousaf, has attempted to make the case for the concept of moderate Islam, mentioning a 600-page fatwa drawn up by the Islamic scholar Muhammad Tahir al-Qadri that argues against the use of violence, and of attending a lecture given by the Solas Foundation where the belligerence of the Verse of the Sword (Qur’an 9:5) was ‘disproved’ by Amer Jamil:

With authority and clarity he deconstructed the radicals’ thought process and demonstrated how the idea that this verse commands indiscriminate killing of non-Muslims was not just completely absurd but illegitimate from a qualified religious-science point of view.

Note that it is indiscriminate killing that is described as absurd, but suppose the infidel is also spared discriminate killing, what kind of life could he expect in a Muslim Britain? Qur’an 9:29 has the specific answer: payment of the jizyah poll tax and submission to Muslims as a member of the subjugated class or dhimmah. No mention is made of that being ‘absurd’.

Humza Yousaf, Amer Jamil, the Solas Foundation and their like have one purpose: to persuade society at large that Islam can be reformed and detoxified, and so buy time until Muslims form the majority in Britain. At which point, the meaning of the word dhimmi will become all too clear to the British.
