A Swiss court has confirmed a judgement previously made against the Swiss politician, Willy Schmidhauser, for "racial discrimination" against Muslims. In a party circular, Schmidhauser had argued that no more Muslims should be granted Swiss citizenship. A complaint against him was made and he was fined for "racial discrimination". The court did not explain how it is that Muslims could be held to constitute a race.

Ironically, Schmidhauser later filed a complaint against an Islamic school in Switzerland on grounds of racism. He claimed that its teaching of the Koran infringed the Swiss constitution, human rights and the UN charter. The authorities refused to take his complaint seriously, however.
