Islam versus Europe

The anti-immigration, anti-EU, Counterjihad party True Finns have triumphed in the Finnish elections, achieving around 19% of the vote. This puts it on a par with the two main establishment parties of the left and right who will now, almost certainly, have to adapt their policies to suit the True Finns to at least some degree. How much influence the True Finns have depends on the coalition agreement that is made. This is potentially of interest to the rest of the EU as the True Finns have threatened to veto the EU bail-out proposals for heavily indebted countries like Greece.

Overall, the True Finns quadrupled their vote compared to the last general election. Immigrants form only 3% of the Finnish population but the Finns have clearly seen what has happened in the rest of Europe and do not want their country turned into a third-world cesspit too.

While reading background material on the True Finns, I came across an article on the BBC website, written two days ago, and was simply staggered by its lack of objectivity.

Parties tend to follow popular trends among the electorate, even if they have an authoritarian streak. That is a general weakness of democracy.

So the BBC is now propagandising against democracy?

There is even more astounding bias later on:

They believe that a low birth rate is not solved by immigration, as that results in problems and foreigners do not fit into Finnish culture. Instead, young women should study less and spend more time giving birth to pure Finnish children. That is like a faint echo of Nazi ideology.

Wow. I may actually make a formal complaint to the BBC about this. We almost expect bias from the BBC now but this over-the-top propaganda almost beggars belief.
